Fashion Studio Internship with Vita Gottlieb

Vita Gottlieb is an emerging independent womenswear brand focusing on print and textile manipulation. A Fashion Fringe Finalist 2012, the label is gaining considerable press attention and will be showing at Fashion Scout for SS15. We are looking for creative, willing and enthusiastic individuals to work closely with the small team in the Vita Gottlieb Studio. Working on developing the SS15 collection, internships will consist of varied tasks, but generally you could expect to be involved in:

• Basic pattern-cutting, alterations and tracing out
• Cutting and sewing toiles
• Textile development and experimenting with techniques
• Sample development
• Assistance on photo-shoots, look books and film campaigns.
• Studio admin and research
• Technical drawings – experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign preferred.
• Running general errands – fabrics, trims, deliveries, etc.

The placements would be best suited to a student who is at least a second year level or graduate of a relevant fashion related course, who excels in the technical aspects of fashion, is accurate and highly motivated, able to undertake tasks on their own initiative. Guidance and learning is provided making this a great opportunity to gain knowledge and experience direct from the designer, and see how a collection is built in a small company. A good knowledge of construction and pattern-cutting would be an advantage, however basic understanding of these skills will be considered.

Starting immediately, there are both full time and part time positions available, with a variety of key areas of focus. The student would gain the most from a minimum of 4 weeks and the internships would end just after Paris Showrooms in early October (flexible).
